PAGAN PRIDE UK 2017
The 1st of August welcomes Lughnasadh the beginning of the first of the 3 fold harvest. The meaning of Lughnasadh , 'the commemoration of Lugh', the Irish solar God, this being the celebration of the first fruits and the fields of barley. These crops bring the death of Lughs foster mother the goddess Tailtuiu whom is responsible for the growing of the crops. The harvest celebrations are in honour of her.
Lammas another name given by the Anglo Saxons meaning Loafmass, due to the importance of the grain crops, the taming and farming of the land was upmost.
within our lives we tend to prepare the ground for our years goals , then sow the seeds of what we intend for ourselves, it is often at this time we also start to gain returns for our hard work and toil. This week we have seen a full moon in Leo under the influence of Saturn, this might mean for many a slow but steady return for your hard labours, the harvesting of your ideas and work.
Lughnasadh has many key themes to its celebration: abundance , prowess, accomplishment , community, deeds & achievement's, responsibilities, the celebration of the wild earth and the first fruits, and a very important key theme is PRIDE.....
The many colourful Pagans that came together into a large community on the 6th of August achieved all the above and very importantly had masses of PRIDE in there way of life and celebrated with much love and Peace. Even the local Police got involved and enjoyed the spirit of the day....
The Wyrd Wytch team had a fantastic
time and enjoyed talking to so many lovely people.
We are still buzzing from the atmosphere and the colourful Pagan Folk and Tribal Girls you looked amazing, Earth goddesses'.
Infact we all left feeling we had, had a day to remember, (think even Bones looks happy), he's not had so many admirers for a long time and when I say a long time I really mean a long time! I think his modelling carrier is just about to take off, what with his top hats, his Moon Cloak and has Barefoot bracelet, what a cool dude.
So many of you helped to spread The Love with our For Love Rollerball scent and our hand blended Tea of Love, all a great hit.
All the volunteers that made the day sail along without any problems a big thanks and yes Tania, thank you!!
If the Lady that left a deposit on the felttie Faery could email us , we can arrange for a final payment and sending her to you....
This harvest this Lughnasadh / Lammas time give yourself time to focus on self pride, on your self esteem, the abundance the natural world provides for us , the wildness and the mother earth goddess, Lugh, warrior, justice and skill.
